Project 1 Progress_Victoria Versteegh
I've just finished my first ten seconds of my video project. So far I have storyboarded the first 25 seconds of the video however I am struggling with action vs speed. It's difficult to have enough going on without it being overwhelming while also maintaining what is going on within the time frame. So far I have the ghost moving across the screen to the center where it pivots. While this happens the ghost is going back and forth between ~ 60 % opacity and the background is flashing between different images.
This week I added music to my animated video and continued to add more images. I also finished my storyboard this week and was able to figure out how to convert the timeline to be in seconds instead of frames. I am up to 45 seconds this week but I plan on cutting off the time later on and shrinking everything down. I've found that I struggle with timing as it is converted to an mp3 it seems to change speed and all of the elements in the animation slow down.
This week I focused on finishing the basis of the animation and I got to 58 seconds. I filled in the storyline that I previously outlined on my storyboard. Now that I don't have to worry about finishing in time it will allow me to go back into the animation and add details that I wasn't able to before. I will also be speeding everything up so that it is visually engaging.
This week I focused on condensing the animation that I already have so that it makes more sense as a viewer. This made the animation go by quicker and I realized that I had to add more content in order for it to fill the allotted time frame. That will be the main focus for the next two weeks. I storyboarded more of what I wanted within the 60 seconds this week as well and will be adding more next week.
